Ogham Tuesday: Aspen

Well-meaning guidance to “do it afraid” (whatever IT is) can sometimes feel like an admonition to deny our fears, to push forward as if there is nothing to fear. Aspen is gentler than that, thank all the gods.
When Aspen comes up in a reading, I associate it with the element of air – partly because Aspen is a very tall tree, but also because it’s associated with communication and courage as much as conquest. I hear in Aspen an invitation to interrogate my fears rather than deny them. Fear is information. Fear is intuition. Fear is memory. Stuffing all of that into my back pocket is neither helpful nor sustainable.
What ancestral or childhood fears might be affecting you today? How can you respect the roots of your fear and take it into consideration with your actions? Is there a way for you to create safety for yourself with your next steps?
The Ogham Tuesday series started in 2023 and focused first on introducing each of the standard ogham alphabet in order. We're moving those posts to the blog now, so they can be more easily searched.
