Good morning! I’m glad to share this month’s New Moon Divination with you, on the day of the new moon instead of the day after.
This point in the lunar cycle always feels like I’m at the bottom of my breath, after I’ve fully exhaled but before I lift into my inhale. Like bobbing and traveling (a swimming metaphor), it helps me to touch bedrock and launch into the next month with fresh energy.
There are a couple of repeats from last month, in which the ogham are in different positions, which I think is pretty interesting in terms of patterns and progressions. Let’s dive in!

Overall Theme: Elder, for settling accounts and being honest with yourself. We lie best when we lie to ourselves, don’t we? Given the rest of these omens, I think this is less about shame and more about recognizing where we are reacting without thinking or expending energy on everything except what matters most (perhaps unconsciously).
Potential & Allies: Rowan, for protection against unseen forces. If you’re a believer in magic, Rowan is proof against that. We need not be concerned about what others think of us, but I take this as reassurance that people are speaking well of you behind your back and may even be conspiring in your favor.
Static & Obstacles: White Poplar. Last month, this one was in the “Letting Go” position. I suspect I’m not the only one who is very bad at letting go, but that reluctance costs me in many ways. Think of it here as something like analysis paralysis – you’ve got all the information you need to just start, even imperfectly. Adjust as you go, but put your feet on the path.
Letting Go: Alder, for seeking guidance. I feel like this is confirmation that the time for research has ended. What you have, and what you have to offer, is enough.
Helping Grow: Yew, for transitions. Last month, a need to get better at waiting was in the “static and obstacles” position. I’m not surprised to see it again, but its movement to the growth position feels like validation and YES, MORE. A truly deep inhale takes time to pull in, to feel it surging through our bloodstream, filling us with potential in every heartbeat. Let it take time, whatever “it” is for you right now.
If you know me in real life, you’ll know how powerful some of these are resonating for me right now. I hope this insight fills in some of your story as well. Thank you for your trust…I wish you all every joy and success.
Brightest blessings,
Nicole
