New Moon Divination: June 6, 2024

Hello, and welcome to the halfway point in our year of New Moon Divination. I’m so grateful for the insights these readings are giving me, and I hope they’re adding some brightness to your days as well.

Sometimes, it takes imagination to stitch together a cohesive message from the ogham. Not today, friends. It sounded clear as a bell to me and my brain is still ringing with it.

  1. Overall Theme: Honeysuckle, for sweetness and gathering to ourselves what is most needed. If you garden, then you know June is the height of strength for this plant. Its flowers are scenting the air and drawing pollinators, with branches and vines reaching boldly for the light. In this reading, Honeysuckle feels like Ominous Positivity. Vigorous growth is inevitable and sweetness is inescapable. Don’t bother fighting it.

  2. Potential & Allies: Elder, pointing out shame and telling us to quit bullshitting ourselves. How is that an ally? Well, we can’t fix what’s wrong if we don’t know where it hurts. Elder points out VERY CLEARLY where it hurts. That kind of clarity is invaluable. Much like we can’t stop the growth of Honeysuckle, we can’t ignore the pain that needs our attention.

  3. Static & Obstacles: Holly, warning us against intellectualizing. Holly can be a defensive weapon but, this month, we need to beware of our tendency to guard our pain, to explain away any reason why we should work on fixing what’s wrong. That instinct to put up a fight against what can help us is definitely an obstacle.

  4. Letting Go: Oak, for certainty. Friends, the guidance to let go was so strong that I DROPPED this ogham. Clinging to solid ground and the ways we’re used to doing things will not serve us right now. Following the lesson from Holly, Oak reminds us that standing our ground means we never get anywhere new.

  5. Helping Grow: Alder, for trust. The remedy for anxiety is trust, right? Alder reminds us to reach out for guidance from our mentors but, more than anything, asks us to trust our own inner wisdom.

What a wild and freeing message, heading into high summer and the Solstice! Whatever the longest day has in store for you, I hope you believe in yourself whether you want to or not.

Brightest blessings,

Nicole
