November New Moon Divination: A sacred trudge, sort of.

ree

Hello, all – When I’m most hoping for divination to give me a dramatic choice or change in perspective, that’s when it gives me the most ordinary guidance. (( sigh )) This month, the magic is in the ordinary. Just one foot in front of the other, right?

  1. Overall Theme: Pine, for perspective. This one is fresh in my mind from a recent #oghamtuesday, as a reminder to get some emotional distance and check whether I’m on the right path. Pine keeps me anchored in the map. I’m checking to see whether my path is getting me where I want to go, so I can make corrections, not just admiring the view.

  2. Potential & Allies: Vine, for celebration. It’s a challenge, when the road is long, to get so wrapped up in “are we there yet?” that we forget to celebrate the milestones. Every small victory and sometimes every step forward is a success, especially if the finish line is a VERY long way away. Basking in those moments of victory generates energy for the next stage of progress.

  3. Static & Obstacles: Birch, for new beginnings. With the first two positions of this reading referencing a long road, I think the caution here is to avoid the temptation to wipe the slate clean and start over on something different, which would essentially erase hard-earned progress. Just keep moving forward.

  4. Letting Go: Ash, for shape-shifting, with the modifier for Air. Again, this set cautions against mutability. What will get you to the goal is the same effort that’s gotten you this far. Success isn’t hard, it's just the simple actions repeated over time. Persist.

  5. Helping Grow: Witch Hazel and Yew, for magical gateways. Yew is a transition to something new, that’s true, but it’s like a cut scene where everything goes dark before we can see the new landscape. The magic here is in staying on the path until we’re all the way through.

As always, I’m curious what you see in this month’s reading! Please let me know, and feel free to share with any friends you think might get something out of it too.

Bright blessings,

Nicole
