Ogham Tuesday: Apple

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” It makes sense that Apple signifies health and healing across cultures, though they are relatively new to North America. Apples have also been symbols of mystery and choice in mythology – in the Garden of Eden or the Garden of the Hesperides (depending on your pantheon).
In nature, apple trees are the most fruitful when they are within pollinating distance of other apple trees, preferably of other varieties. In that sense, they can symbolize an opportunity to learn and benefit from other people and circumstances (even from the Otherworld).
When Apple shows up in a reading for me, I see it as a sign that I have an active part to play in whatever comes next. The powers that be are presenting me with this choice but the consequences (and rewards) are mine to bear. In saying YES to one thing, I acknowledge that I’m saying NO to another thing. Is my decision consistent with my long-term desires? Do these actions support my vitality in the future?
The Ogham Tuesday series started in 2023 and focused first on introducing each of the standard ogham alphabet in order. We're moving those posts to the blog now, so they can be more easily searched.
Whatever your choices are today, I hope you find delight!
